A growing number of older people are at risk of isolation, illness, injury, and even death in the absence of appropriate services and support. At Jennings Center for Older Adults, we offer services to help people thrive, and care for those who are the most frail and the most in need of assistance. In fact, almost half of the older adults who receive services at Jennings suffer from some form of dementia, and over three-quarters need assistance with daily living. As this difficult situation continues, we rely on donations to help us care for older adults who are no longer able to care for themselves.
In the face of chronic illness and loss of ability, eighty percent of our nursing home residents are unable to pay for their care. Providing quality health care and assisting older people to live to their highest potential requires substantial financial resources. Even through government reimbursement through the Medicaid program provides some relief, it falls short of covering the full cost of care by $20.00 per resident, per day.
That's why even the smallest gift to our Gospel Treasures Annual Fund makes a difference. Please consider pledging your support by making a donation today.
You can make your gift by printing the online pledge form (available as a pdf) or donating online. For more information, contact Amy Restorick-Roberts, director of development, at 216-581-2900, ext. 2327. |
