Jennings Center for Older Adults offers its Eva L. Bruening Adult Day Center to support caregivers in the community. As a community-based service in our continuum of care, the adult day program is a primary resource for seniors who remain in their homes or with at-home caregivers but may need additional support with medical, personal care, social and nutritional requirements. This reliable program can help to ease the burden of caregivers who, for example, may need support physically or who may wish to reduce the stress of juggling caregiving, family and employment obligations.
The adult day center provides services such as:
- Transportation
- Home-cooked meals, including special diets
- Personal care and assistance
- Medication reminders
In addition to physical health and wellness, our commitment to spiritual wellness enables us to offer life-enriching programs for socialization and recreation. We celebrate life throughout the campus with special programs and activities to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Some of the life-enriching activities we provide include:
- Men's club
- Music programs
- Arts and crafts
- Intergenerational activities with children
- Mind stimulating games
- Exercise
- Special events and outings
Financial assistance is available to those who qualify through programs such as:
- PASSPORT (Cuyahoga and Summit counties)
- OPTIONS
- Title III
- Alzheimer's Respite Grant
Bringing together the traditions of neighborhood and home, seniors have the opportunity to enjoy the everyday elements of community life while receiving the extra support they may require. Participants in the adult day program find an enriching balance of stimulating activities, medical care and personal time in a secure environment. Seniors may come daily or regularly for participation. Our program is an ideal way for a senior to participate in a stimulating environment while receiving expert quality care. In addition, the program helps to improve caregiver abilities by providing critical respite time for re-energizing while having the peace of mind that a loved one is receiving good care.
